Folded Crispy Chipotle Chicken Wraps

Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken:
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into thin strips)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder or substitute with chili powder for less heat
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Wraps:
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your choice
  • 1/2 avocado sliced or 1/4 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt optional, for added creaminess
  • Fresh cilantro optional, for garnish
  • Lime wedges optional, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Chicken :
  • In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, chipotle powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over them. Cook for 5–7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly crispy on the edges.
  • Assemble the Wraps :
  • Warm the tortillas slightly in a dry skillet or microwave to make them more pliable.
  • Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of sour cream or Greek yogurt (if using) over the tortilla.
  • Layer shredded lettuce, diced tomato, shredded cheese, and cooked chicken strips over one half of the tortilla.
  • Add avocado slices or a dollop of guacamole on top of the chicken.
  • Sprinkle fresh cilantro over the filling if desired.
  • Fold the Wraps :
  • Fold the empty side of the tortilla over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press down gently to secure the wrap.
  • Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
  • Serve :
  • Serve the wraps warm with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the filling. Enjoy immediately for the crispiest texture.

Notes

For extra crispiness, you can lightly toast the tortillas on a skillet before assembling the wraps.
Substitute chicken with grilled tofu or beans for a vegetarian option.
Store leftover components separately in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Assemble wraps just before serving to prevent sogginess.
