Equipment

  • Mixing bowls (large and small)
  • Whisk
  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack (optional, for crispiness)
  • Knife and cutting board (for slicing ingredients)

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into slider-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese mixed with breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or vegetable oil for frying
  • For Assembly:
  • 12 slider buns or dinner rolls
  • 1 cup marinara sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken :
  • Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with the breadcrumb mixture (breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper).
  • Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour, shaking off excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Cook the Chicken :
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken pieces for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C). Alternatively, bake the chicken on a wire rack-lined baking sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Assemble the Sliders :
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bottom halves of the slider buns on a baking sheet.
  • Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce on each bun, followed by a piece of cooked chicken. Top each chicken piece with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Place the top halves of the buns on the sliders.
  • Bake the Sliders :
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve :
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

For extra crispiness, toast the slider buns lightly before assembling.
Substitute chicken with eggplant slices for a vegetarian option.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
Double the marinara sauce recipe if you want extra dipping sauce.
